About me
Kerri (they/them) has worked for Fairfax County Public Libraries for close to 20 years in a variety of settings, from starting as a high school volunteer to their current position as a Youth Services Information Assistant. Kerri loves teen programming (especially nerdy, fandom-related programming), graphic novels, and making sure that everyone feels welcome in the library. Their favorite books are realistic, sci-fi, or fantasy books and graphic novels, especially those featuring LGBTQA+ or disabled characters. When not in library land, Kerri can probably be found watching Star Wars, Marvel, or Disney movies, surrounded by fidget toys, and learning invented languages from fantasy and sci-fi fandoms. Their favorite fandom characters include Poe Dameron (Star Wars), Amos Burton (The Expanse), Nick Nelson (Heartstopper), Link (The Legend of Zelda), and both Sam and Dean Winchester (Supernatural), because who could choose just one Winchester? When their attention span is cooperating, they enjoy creative writing and building LEGO sets. They will gladly talk to you about Augmentative and Alternative Communication and neurodiversity for days, so don't get them started unless you really want to know.
