About me
Emily Brown brings 16 years of experience building brands and moving audiences to action for organizations in the nonprofit, association, and corporate spaces. Her work is built on the psychology of brand and messaging, and how audiences are activated. She started her career at a nonprofit in the D.C.-Metro area, helping to more than triple their volunteer base, increase funding, and build a digital supporter community on social media.
She moved on to corporate and association marketing for a global branding and events agency, helping international associations build their brand and grow their membership numbers and engagement, and eventually led national corporate development for the company. In 2022, she left the agency world to open her own marketing company.
In April of 2024, Emily shuttered her company to take on the role of Safe House Project's first-ever Director of Impact - serving to make a difference for a cause she's been passionate about for over 20 years. Her experience and expertise help bolster SHP's efforts in growing brand and issue awareness, helping audiences to understand their role in eradicating child trafficking, and securing and maintaining crucial funding for helping victims escape their trafficking situation and start a new life of hope and healing. She's excited to connect individuals, groups, and companies who feel called to the fight against human trafficking to Safe House Project, knowing the collective impact will change hundreds of thousands of lives.
